AC Whyte

AC Whyte is a building refurbishment, retrofit, and energy efficiency contractor based at Crossmill Business Park in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire. Most of its work is for local authorities and housing associations, improving existing homes and residential blocks.

The company acts as main contractor on refurbishment and external wall insulation schemes, and also carries out roofing, render, joinery, and window and door replacement. It uses its own directly employed workforce for these core trades. Its projects include two phases of roof and render work on 340 flats in 24 blocks at Burnhill, Rutherglen, for South Lanarkshire Council, and a roof replacement at Moat and Hutchison House for City of Edinburgh Council. It is a member of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors.

The business has operated for more than 50 years. It was incorporated in 1973 as A C Whyte (Slaters and Plasterers) Limited and took its current name in 1995. It works throughout Scotland and has also delivered projects elsewhere in the UK.
