PowerPhotonic is a Fife-based manufacturer of freeform optical components for laser systems. Its headquarters and production site are at St David's Business Park in Dalgety Bay. The company was incorporated in Scotland in 2004.
Standard products include beam shapers, diffusers, homogenisers, array collimation optics, beam combiners, and aberration correctors. PowerPhotonic also designs custom optics for individual systems and offers LightForge, a rapid prototyping service for uncoated parts. It also supplies mounted and pre-aligned optical sub-assemblies.
The company's optics are used in laser cutting, welding, metal additive manufacturing, micromachining, medical lasers, cinema projection, data communications, and defence. It is ISO 9001 accredited and reports manufacturing and engineering operations in the UK and the US. Customers are spread across the UK, Europe, the US, Japan, and South Korea, with contact offices listed for North America and Japan.
