Taytech Environmental

Taytech Environmental is an employee-owned chemical engineering company based in Dalry, North Ayrshire. Set up in 2004, it designs and runs chemical treatment and dosing programmes that help industrial sites manage water discharges and meet discharge regulations. It works across the UK and further afield.

Its approach combines chemical products with dosing control systems. Dosing equipment can be fitted with remote telemetry, so that the amount of chemical added on site is measured and linked to its effect on the process. Once the initial problem has been dealt with, Taytech's engineers continue to monitor performance and trial alternative chemicals where appropriate. It has worked in sectors including wastewater treatment, aquaculture, energy, quarrying, and food and drink.

The company moved into employee ownership in 2018. That year it also began building the Taytech Business Hub at Drakemyre in Dalry. The hub was completed in spring 2019 and houses the office team, workshop, laboratory, and chemical storage. The staff include chemists, chemical engineers, and mechanical, electrical, and control engineers. The company runs a graduate programme and offers work placements to pupils at local schools.
