Ardent Training

Ardent Training is an online sailing school based in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. It provides Royal Yachting Association (RYA) theory courses that students complete remotely on a computer, tablet, or phone. The business trades through Ardent Sailing Ltd.

Courses range from RYA Day Skipper Theory to Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore and Yachtmaster Ocean theory, including fast-track options. Lessons combine video and written material. Physical charts and navigation tools are posted to each student, and the RYA theory exam can be sat online. Instructors are available seven days a week, and the courses are also available through a mobile app.

The courses were written by professional sailors whose experience includes expedition sailing, tall ships, conservation work, and naval service, and some material is filmed at sea. Ardent works with practical training partners in the UK and overseas. Students can complete their practical qualifications with these partners after finishing the theory course.
