Glasgow-based AI company Hypercube has been ranked 10th in the Financial Times UK’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2027 list after recording revenue growth of 2,373% between 2022 and 2025.
The energy technology business also placed second among IT and software companies in the inaugural ranking, which assessed 150 UK firms and was compiled by the Financial Times in partnership with Statista.
Hypercube achieved a compound annual revenue growth rate of 191% during the three-year period. The company, which also has an office in Aberdeen, says its workforce has since grown to 34 people.
Led by co-founders Adam Sroka and Iain Cherry, Hypercube develops artificial intelligence and data technology specifically for businesses operating in the Scottish energy industry.
Its CAIRN platform helps energy developers and operators manage complex projects and make decisions using information from different business systems.
The technology supports procurement evaluations, contract analysis, project management, and energy asset operations. It works alongside existing systems, with human oversight retained for important decisions.
Hypercube serves energy markets such as offshore and onshore wind, battery storage, and energy trading. Its technology is designed for businesses operating internationally, rather than solely within Scotland.
The company expanded its Scottish presence in February 2026 by announcing an Aberdeen office to serve businesses in the North East energy sector.
Hypercube has received research and development funding from Scottish Enterprise to support its work on AI technology for renewable energy projects.
The grant, announced in February 2026, was intended to help develop software capable of identifying project scheduling risks, coordinating activities, and assisting project teams with complex delivery decisions.
Scottish Enterprise also supported the early development of CAIRN, which has become central to Hypercube’s commercial offering.
Mark Newlands, director of trade and innovation at Scottish Enterprise, said the company’s performance demonstrated how Scottish technology businesses could develop products for international customers.
Hypercube is led by chief executive Adam Sroka and chief operating officer Iain Cherry. The registered business, Hypercube Consulting Ltd, was incorporated in Scotland in March 2021.
Sroka has a background in data science and artificial intelligence, while Cherry previously held a senior management position at Incremental Group before its acquisition by Telefónica Tech.
The company has also strengthened its management team during 2026. Energy entrepreneur Stuart George joined as a non-executive director, while Sroka was appointed to the governance board of Scotland’s data and AI innovation centre, The Data Lab.
Hypercube secured a place on the Crown Commercial Service G-Cloud 15 framework, providing a procurement route for UK public sector organisations seeking its cloud and AI services.
Commenting on the Financial Times ranking, Sroka said:
“This recognition belongs to our whole team.”
He credited the company’s growth to the combination of energy industry experience and technical expertise within its workforce.
Published in October 2026, the Financial Times ranking measures compound annual revenue growth over three years, rather than profitability or overall company size.
Hypercube was one of only two energy-focused businesses in the top 10, according to the company.
Its position in the ranking follows a period of investment, expansion, and product development as the Glasgow business grows its presence in the energy technology market.
