Aldomak is a Scottish confectionery manufacturer with a factory on Burnfield Avenue in Giffnock, on the southern edge of Glasgow. The company makes tablet, fudge, macaroon bars, snowballs, and hand-piped meringues, and also supplies ice cream cones and wafers to the trade.
Products are sold under Aldomak's own brands and as private label for retailers, and the company has supplied Scottish fudge and tablet for Aldi's Specially Selected range. It also offers contract manufacturing and co-packing for other food brands. Much of the work is still done by hand, with tablet and fudge poured onto cast-iron cooling tables and meringues piped by staff.
Aldomak traces its roots to an Italian family business set up in Glasgow in 1932, which began with ice cream and related sweets. The Riccomini family took over in the 1970s and moved into confectionery, and Dario Riccomini took on the business from his parents in 2001. The current site holds a BRC AA grade and has solar panels and beehives on the grounds.
