ILM Highland is a Highland social enterprise and charity that sells new, nearly new and refurbished household appliances and runs electrical recycling services. It is based on the Teaninich Industrial Estate in Alness, Ross-shire, and also has a store in Inverness.
The shop range covers washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges and freezers, dishwashers, cookers and small appliances, along with laptops and tablets. Nearly new appliances come with a one-year warranty and refurbished items with a six-month guarantee. On the recycling side, the organisation offers household collections, pink bin drop-off points, and reuse and repair of electricals.
Trading profits are reinvested in community services, including Care & Repair, a handyperson service, telecare support and a monthly Repair Cafe staffed by volunteers. The organisation says it has more than 35 years of experience in the Highlands.
