Jamieson Welding is a family-owned metal fabrication and engineering business at Bridgemill in Girvan, South Ayrshire. It has been operating since 1981. Its work now combines welding and fabrication with laser, waterjet, and flame profiling, CNC machining, and coatings and surface preparation.
The business started out in welding fabrication for open-cast mining, marine engineering, and distillery maintenance and installation. It added laser cutting in 1997, which led it into making its own products and supplying components to other manufacturers. Current welding processes include robotic and manual MIG, TIG, and MMA, supported by press braking, guillotining, tube cutting, and bending. Examples of its work include tower sections, wind turbine accumulator brackets, pre-fabricated casings, and agricultural linkage arms.
Alongside contract manufacturing, the company designs and builds scallop dredging gear for the fishing industry, including dredges, toothbars, chainbags, and spares. All of this work is carried out at its single factory in Girvan, which is open Monday to Saturday.
