Rora Dairy makes yogurt on the Mackie family's dairy farm at Middleton of Rora, near Longside and Peterhead in Aberdeenshire. Milk from the farm's own herd goes directly to an on-site production unit, where it is made into natural and fruit yogurts.
The range includes natural bio-live yogurt and fruit flavours such as raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry, made with organic, non-homogenised milk and live cultures. Fruit is bought from other local farms. Rora yogurt has been stocked by Morrisons, Sainsbury's, and Aldi in Scotland, and is also sold through delis, farm shops, and foodservice customers.
Jane Mackie, who previously worked in advertising and brand marketing, launched the business in 2017 with her husband Bruce, whose family has farmed at Middleton of Rora since 1966. The farm milks its cows with robotic milking machines and has converted to organic milk production. In 2018 Rora won Best New Food Service Product at the North-East Scotland Food & Drink Awards.
