Orcadia Design

Orcadia Design is a web design and development studio based at Dounby on mainland Orkney. It designs, builds, and maintains websites for businesses and public bodies in Orkney and elsewhere in the UK and Europe.

Its work covers user interface and user experience design, custom WordPress theme development, e-commerce sites, booking system integration, cloud hosting, and ongoing website maintenance. Clients named by the studio include NHS Orkney, Orkney Islands Council, Orkney Housing Association, Orkney Cheese, Destination Orkney, The Orkney Hotel, and Orkney Marinas. Recent launches include sites for an Orkney building and joinery firm, an artist, and a holiday accommodation business.

The business began in 1999 building websites for galleries and artists in Belgium and the Netherlands. Its founders moved to Orkney in 2002 and have run the studio from the islands since then, incorporating Orcadia Design Ltd in 2014. Johanna Werb, who trained in graphic design, leads project management, interface design, and front-end development, and Chris Werb is a director of the company.
