Chemify is a Glasgow-based digital chemistry company that designs and makes small molecules for drug discovery and materials research. Its production facility, the Chemifarm, is at Oakbank Industrial Estate in Maryhill, and the company also uses laboratory space at the University of Glasgow's Advanced Research Centre.
The company's Chemputation platform combines a chemical programming language, laboratory robotics, and AI-based molecular design. Chemical procedures are written as code and run on automated systems, with the aim of making synthesis more reproducible and quicker to scale. Chemify works with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and materials companies under confidential partnerships, supplying new compounds and samples for early-stage research. Published collaborations include work with Prepaire Labs on non-addictive opioid medicines and a tuberculosis drug discovery project funded by the Gates Foundation.
Chemify grew out of two decades of research by Professor Lee Cronin, Regius Professor of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow, who founded the company in 2022 and leads it as chief executive. The 21,500 sq ft Chemifarm opened in June 2025, supported by the Glasgow City Region Innovation Accelerator and a £1.1 million Scottish Enterprise grant. Chemify completed a $50 million Series B round in October 2025, led by Wing Venture Capital and Insight Partners, and has also set up a US hub in Silicon Valley.
