Fair Feast is a social enterprise at Knockbarry Farm near Pitlochry that produces wild venison products and donates a share of its output to food banks, schools and community kitchens. It operates as Fair Feast CIC from an on-site deer larder and butchery on the farm.
Venison from deer stalking on the farm is processed by a full-time master butcher into sausages, burgers, mince, meatballs and stew. Sales of tenderloin steaks and other products fund the butchery and donation work, a model the enterprise sums up as matching sales with food bank donations. Venison from the project is also intended for local shops, hotels and restaurants.
The larder was set up with support from the Cairngorms National Park Authority and The National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Cairngorms 2030 programme. Fair Feast was established by Helen Stewart, whose family has farmed Knockbarry for more than 400 years. The CIC was incorporated in April 2024.
