The Borders Distillery is a working Scotch whisky distillery in Hawick, housed in a restored industrial building in the town centre. Founded in 2013 and opened for production in 2018, it brought whisky distilling back to the Scottish Borders for the first time since 1837.
The distillery uses Scottish barley sourced from farms close to Hawick and produces whisky alongside gin and vodka. Its first single malt has now been released after extended maturation, while the site also runs a visitor centre, shop and guided tours led through the working production areas. By-products from distilling are returned into local agricultural use through its grower relationships.
The Borders Distillery Company Limited is registered in Scotland under SC445020. Its Hawick site on Commercial Road is both the production base and public visitor location. Trade, tourism and general enquiries can be made directly through the distillery, with tours and products available through its website.
