Stoddart Crane Hire is a family-run crane hire and lifting business based at Tomich Industrial Estate in Muir of Ord, Ross-shire. It supplies mobile and crawler cranes, contract lifting and heavy haulage across the Highlands and Islands and elsewhere in the UK.
The mobile crane fleet ranges from 5 tonnes to 250 tonnes in capacity. Customers can hire cranes with operators, commission contract lifts planned and managed by the company, or hire crawler cranes. The firm also provides specialised transport using its own heavy haulage vehicles, and its case studies include lifting work on remote islands as well as for mainland businesses.
The business began in 2004, when founder David Stoddart set out with a single crane after years working as a crane operator. STODDART CRANE HIRE LTD. was incorporated in November 2007 and continues to operate from Muir of Ord as a family business.
